The Appalachian Institute for Health and Wellness (App Well) connects Appalachian State University to the community by supporting health and wellness research, interprofessional clinics and community outreach programs. The institute partners with the community to better prepare students to become exceptional practitioners who will continue to address health issues and disparities throughout the region and beyond.

Aging Well Conference 2025

App Well Community Outreach offers a wide range of education activities as well as an annual conference. The 2025 Aging Well Conference will take place on May 15 & 16 at Leon Levine Hall of Health Sciences.

The conference will focus on advancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare providers and community members in rural western North Carolina. The conference will include a blend of individual and group presentations, panel discussions, and demonstrations. Conference presenters will bring together diverse perspectives of healthcare experts, researchers, government officials, social service providers, and older adults and family caregivers.
